Job Description & Requirements:

Private Country Club, in Illinous, that has a focus on a family friendly environment, is looking for a new Director of Tennis. The Director of Tennis will be responsible for maintaining our four Har-Tru clay courts and two asphalt courts, teaching tennis group and private lessons, assisting in the pro shop, scheduling lessons, tournaments, and court time.

Responsibilities

  • Submits all paperwork, payroll, invoices, and lessons to Country Club’s controller in a timely manner.
  • Create brochures for the 2018 tennis season including but not limited to; ladies groups, men’s drills, junior programs, kids fun nights, mixers, and tournaments
  • Provides excellent customer service and helps monitor guest feedback. Follow up on guest requests and comments.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the courts while teaching lessons.
  • Follows clubs court reservation system to ensure a smooth and even flow of traffic on and off the courts.
  • Must provide instructional services including, private and semi private lessons, small group lessons, clinics, team coaching, tactics and strategy.
  • Coordination of social and competitive events including special tournaments.
  • Implements programs for adults and juniors of all levels.
  • Responsible for pro shop sales, including re-stringing, re-gripping, and beverage sales.
  • Promotes the facilities and its amenities to potential members when applicable.

Qualifications

  • College Degree or comparable work experience
  • Preferably past private Club experience as a Director of Tennis
  • Must be a experienced, strong, successful player
  • Teaching certifications from USTA or USPTA
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Able to show initiative and make decisions
  • Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Effective leadership skills and strong work ethic
  • Normal work hours: Varied to include nights, weekends, and holiday.
